It’s Raining In Baltimore…Sideways

If you’re inside a building with no easy access to windows, get to one! The rain is coming down fast and hard outside in downtown Baltimore and no umbrella is safe from the wind. It’s perfect kite flying season if you have a death wish! It looks as though buckets (or the culmination of all the rain that we were supposed to have received over the past couple of years) is falling from the sky and it’s dark enough to make you think it’s night time.

Have fun getting home everyone! Be safe!

EDIT:

Per “Stab Master Arson’s” request, I cleaned up the post a bit so it actually makes sense. I’ll be posting video shortly!

Dell Chat Session 101

Just a screen shot of a chat session with Dell, this shows a lovely response and resolution of the issue that I had…sarcasm included

I guess they have “disconnect issues” on their chat server much like on their phone system….

The Courtesy Line at Lo-Fi Social Club

I went and checked out the band The Courtesy Line Saturday at Lo-Fi Social Club and it was a good show. The location was definitely different. It’s the first venue that I’ve been to that really tries to mix up an art studio style atmosphere with different styles of music

The clubs location is good as well as the crowd was nice. Usually you’ve got a very crowded venue with a lot of head nodders and not a local talent. Both the bands before The Courtesy Line were very good. A solo act of whom I don’t know and Abby from the Real Geniuses (which is the best 80′s cover band…EVER!)

Unfortunately after Abby was done most of the crowd cleared out which I thought was pretty weak. I guess they had a curfew or something seeing that most of the crowd was from MICA, either that or they had some drawings to finish before the midnight deadline.

The state of digital media as we could know it?!

As I sit here and read the articles about Google Android and their fight for the 700mHz band one of my friends was kind enough to show me a youtube video that made me ponder a question:

“If we’re given the chance to have free wireless phone, music, GPS, and information at the palm of our hands to do as we wish, are we turning our own society into a mass marketing dreamscape?”

Mr. Scruff

So we checked out Mr. Scruff this weekend at Sonar lounge. He was actually quite good. I was surprised at how many people showed up too. The show started off kind of quiet with only a hand full of people being there. Scruff showed up late around 10:30ish and never seeing him before in real life and only catching his picture on wikipedia I didn’t know what to expected. Needless to say when i turned around and he was behind me in a huge ass coat, he looks exactly like his wikipedia picture. We stayed till about 1:30ish which is about when i realized i had out paced myself and had gone from “fun loving buzz” to “oh shit i’m drunk” at which time i gathered the troops and we headed home. Hearing a lot of his music, his life set was much different then i expected. He played a lot more of a hip-hop style mix with a strong electronic background. I’ll pay $20 to see him again.

Couple things

Took off of work thursday and friday to get ready for Eric’s wedding saturday and what do i miss? Apparently gas lines were bursting all over baltimore and sending manholes flying into the air…now those would have been some pictures to take!

The article is here on baltimore sun’s website

Gas main ruptures

Other then that, I’m off to Jason’s woods in PA tonight for some scarry as shit. I don’t know why they don’t do something out in the abandoned warehouses on the east side of baltimore. Going out there alone without anything going on is scarry as hell already…throw some chain saws, whacky sounds, and some crazy people and it would kick ass!

Bachelor Party in Toofless Country

We’re out in Lancaster County for my friends bachelor party. The cabin’s freaking sweet. There’s a barn in the back, stonewalls on outside and inside. Hardwood floors across the entire place with one of those classic bath tubs that sit in the middle of the bathroom and that’s surrounded by the lining. Showering in one of those things is not suggested for those with clostrophobia.

Tonights going to be a nice deal cause we’re heading downtown and we’ll be a couple miles from everything to where we can walk and get hammered…strip club too ;)

More to come later…

EDIT:
We’re in between Intercourse County AND Blue Ball County…wtf?
